On the technical side, I tried something new this week to solve my mic dilemma, and it was a success! Apparently Nicecast will allow you to switch the mic plugin completely off and back on in the middle of a broadcast without affecting the music. Now I can turn the sensitivity up during mic segments, and turn the thing completely off to avoid ducking during the music.
The show went really well apart from that too. GBS-FM and Dead Air both gained some new listeners this weekend, and everyone seems to have had a lot of fun sharing music and some debate. 666 appeared in the thread as per usual, but I wish we could get him into IRC for a show or two.
